Just Clicked

So, I'm sitting here playing on Facebook when it hits me...I haven't blogged in over a year! I completely forgot about having a blog, among a thousand of other things as well. Not much has happened in the past year. I still teach 3rd grade at Parnell, still married to Jeremy (almost 6 years), still no kiddos, etc... However, Jeremy and I had our house plans drawn, and are slowly, but surely, getting closer to building our dream home. Maybe then we can start towards building our own little family.

Spoiled

I have to start out saying that I am become spoiled to the whole co-teacher classroom, especially being that I am a first year teacher. Your responsibilities are literally like cut in half, though I think Leslie does the majority of the work (your great by the way), but this week I have found out what it's like for all the rest of you teachers!

So Leslie has been writing math curriculum for next year since Tuesday and let's just say that you never know how much you appreciate someone until they're not there. Leslie, if you're reading this, I HEART U! You make teaching so much easier, and I think I would have gone off my rocker the first week of school if I would have been thrown in a classroom by myself instead of being put in with you.

I finally found my groove of being by myself today, it would've helped if I had found that Tuesday or Wednesday, but I found it and I feel totally confident that I have instilled some knowledge in these kiddos these past few days. Having found my 'groove' and incorporating it with the knowledge I have learned from Leslie, I think I might be 1/2 as good as she is next year. Now, I just have to find some way to be organized, but until then......

Peace:)

Simple Things in Life

I hate to quote from songs, but this particular verse makes me step back and realize...
* "it's funny how it`s the simple things in life that mean the most. Not where you live, what
you drive, or the price tag on your clothes. There`s no dollar sign on a piece of mind this I`ve
come to know." * It's pretty cheesy, but it's so true.
There are so many things in life that we all take for granted, especially time. We always have time to do the things we want to do like tan, watch TV, read, go shopping, walk, but when it comes time to call that special someone, visit your grandmother, rub your husband's feet (yes, I said it), or go to church we suddenly don't have time for that. I have been guilty of all of these things, numerous times to be exact. Sitting here makes me realize that now is the time to be with your family and friends, make that phone call, sit down with your husband and rub his feet. Because tomorrow, you may not have time.

I don't know if it's Jeremy's grandmother having cancer that has triggered this sudden drive to spend time with my family, or if it's my late MawMaw's birthday that's rapidly approaching that's making me feel this way, but one way or another I have realized that I need to be spending as much time as possible with the one's I love, because (as my Momma puts it) "we don't even have the promise of tomorrow."

So with that in mind, make time for that simple phone call, visit with your grandmaw/grandpaw, or massage your husband's feet (that he's been begging for all week), because in the end, it's the simple things in life that mean the most.

It is SO Monday!

I HATE Mondays! I got up at 5:00 and couldn't go back to sleep, so I got up and made brownies for work. I know, I was productive, can you believe it?!

I thought I was going to get lucky this morning and one of my little friends would be absent, but he showed up. Isn't that horrible that I feel like that? I love all of my kiddos, but some really work my nerves. They're just excited because Michael Sarver is coming at 2:00 today for a 'pep' talk. How exciting is that?! Can't you just feel my excitement??? Can you feel the sarcasm?! I think I need to go home and wake up on the right side of the bed... Maybe tomorrow will be better.

Life of a New Blogger...

Okay, so I finally created a blog, as you can see. I have absolutely no idea what I am doing. I have always loved to write, so I thought what the hay (plus Leslie kinda talked me into it)? Hopefully, I will blog as often as I can remember, which probably won't be that often. I have horrible memory to only be 25.

Today has been a little on the wild side! I have Relay for Life tonight, my kiddos are extremely talkative, and it's FRIDAY! YAY!! Who wouldn't be excited that it's Friday.
